Why I started personal training with Thabian

I found it difficult to fit exercise into a busy work schedule and was slowly becoming less and less fit. I regularly went to an aerobic class taught by Thabian and liked the way he engaged with everyone in the class so I decided to sign up for personal training sessions with Thabian in order to get in shape for a holiday in Oz. Although I only had a few weeks before the holiday, Thabian worked me hard and I was bikini–ready in no time!

Exercising is infectious

Thabian’s enthusiasm for exercising is infectious, he gave me a training programme for my holiday and surprisingly I kept to it. We sent texts and I updated Thabian on how I was progressing. Once back from holiday, I signed up for further PT sessions. During this course, Thabian moved from my local gym to Bankside and, although this is less convenient, I have now been with him for over two years. Last summer, whilst on holiday, I was keen to do some exercise so took up running and ran 5K each day. I then decided to run my first marathon. Thabian was very supportive and encouraged me to take part. At Christmas, I was in Oz again and ran my first half marathon. Even Thabian was impressed with my commitment. In March I ran the Bath half–marathon and then in April this year I ran the Paris marathon in 4 hours and 16 minutes. It was an amazing achievement — none of my friends thought I would stick with it, especially since I normally prefer wining and dining to exercise. It was a memorable occasion and, even more so as Thabian was there at the end to celebrate with champagne!

Will I continue?

Of course, Thabian is part of my life now and, thanks to him, I have become addicted to exercise and earned the nickname “buff Suzy”, which at 45 is a great achievement! I have already signed up for more marathons: Nice to Cannes in November 2009 and Paris in 2010. More importantly, my recent medical results showed that my fitness level was far above average, not only for someone in their mid 40s but also in comparison with someone in their 20s. It’s great to see the benefits and also to have so much fun whilst exercising. Thabian always tries to make our sessions challenging and fun — sometimes we can be seen laughing loudly.

I know it seems odd, but I can guarantee that once you’ve tried Thabian, you, too, will have fun exercising!
